World Mobile
World Mobile (WM) is a new and innovative blockchain project. Actually it aims to revolutionise the mobile industry with a primary focus on Africa by utilising blockchain technology. In particular, WM was founded in 2018 by a collective of seasoned tech entrepreneurs and business professionals. The project is set out to give mobile data to those in the world that lack it. So, the project offers affordable and safe mobile services both B2B and B2C, in Africa through the implementation of blockchain technology.
World Mobile has created an online platform that implements blockchain technology. This way, it provides mobile services. For example, think of services as voice, data, and messaging. Through blockchain, the platform provides security, trustworthiness, and cost-efficiency. On the latest version of the roadmap, it also plans to offer various digital payment solutions which can further be used to pay for the services.
Moreover, World Mobile has partnered up with several companies and organisations. This helps them grow and develop the platform. In fact, these companies consist of telecom operators, financial institutions, governments, and more. It has received funding from multiple investors as well as funds received through its own token sale: World Mobile Token (Ticker: WMT). The project is developing at a rapid pace but can still be considered in its infancy. Therefore, its founders and community are very optimistic. However, it will be able to create a major change in the world, specifically in Africa where mobile services are scarce.
RealFi
RealFi is a new term that means ‘real finance’. In other words, projects that actually have a real use case in the world. So, World Mobile is one of those. Today, the company is already active in Zanzibar and Tanzania where it is providing data to loads of people. In addition, it is still rolling out more activity in Zanzibar, with Kenya being next on the agenda. The company has already made deals in Kenya with businesses and governmental organisations as preparation. Thus, World Mobile is one of the few companies with a real use case that is actively doing things in the real world. The following images show that it is actually working, and rapidly growing.
Tokenomics
World Mobile Token (WMT) is a utility token that allows consumers to enter multiple products & services from the World Mobile Network. Specifically, the WM token has a maximum supply of 2 billion tokens and a circulating supply of around 250 tokens. The tokenomics of WMT are created in a way that incentivizes users to both use and maintain the network. The rewards for doing so are distributed in the form of WM tokens. What’s more, the fees that users must pay for using the mobile data services, are redistributed in the form of the token, back to the node operators and users who stake their tokens. At a last glance
Well, it is considered that World Mobile is a promising company with a clear vision, mission and execution. Whether or not they will be able to realise what they set out to do, only time will tell. However, no one can say that they aren’t trying. Till today, they have managed to execute a real use case and actually help the unconnected in Africa get connected. Let's hope for the sake of all unconnected that WM will be able to succeed!
