Tips to manage stress

There are several tips to reduce stress levels in everyday life. Regular practice of meditation, deep breathing, and other exercises can significantly improve the quality of life.

1. Quality nutrition and physical exercise

Nutrition and physical exercise are the two most important components in people's

response to stress. In fact, the mind is healthy when the body is healthy. Furthermore, stress depletes certain vitamin levels, so it's crucial to maintain a rich and quality diet. So, physical exercise is a well-known stress reliever and it's proven in improving the overall quality of life.

2. Deep breathing

Deep breathing reduces the concentration of stress hormones in the blood. As a result, this can contribute to the enhancement of health. So, deep breathing helps people to calm down rapidly as it controls the body's response to external stimuli. Breaths should be taken in for several seconds, then held for a few seconds, and then released for several seconds again. It will noticeably help in the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps reduce anxiety and stress.

3. Social media time management

The use of social media platforms doesn't only trigger stress because of the content people see on them. Also because most people use it later in the night, or right before going to bed, it negatively impacts sleep quality. Managing time spent on social media might reduce stress levels as well.

4. Social contacts

As humans are social beings, connecting with other people gives the feeling of being

supported. Socializing and connecting help build relations. Moreover, having like-minded

people around, especially in difficult situations when support is needed is of great

importance.

5. Meditation

Meditation is proven to be effective in reducing stress levels. During meditation, people

focus their attention and get rid of the stream of chaotic thoughts that may be causing stress and crowding their minds. This activity may result in enhanced emotional and physical welfare.
