Home remedies have existed for centuries. They replaced modern medicine and the lack of doctors. In addition, these remedies were easily available and freely used. This is because they contain natural ingredients and rarely have side effects. Some of the reasons why people reach for home remedies are to manage cold symptoms and to deal with health problems. This is especially the case for people who have no access to modern medication.


It is likely that most of us have already taken some kind of home remedy in our life, whether in the form of herbal teas, essential oils or natural supplements. However, there is one question that remains unanswered: is home remedies effectiveness due to real physiological changes or is it just a placebo effect?


Such a question led to a great number of research studies. Some results suggest that home remedies actually work at a physiological level. This is because home remedies contain powerful natural ingredients that benefit our whole body.

Years ago, chili peppers were already used for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as asthma, and to relieve toothache. In some places, they were used to treat headaches, stiff joints and heart problems. Therefore, chili peppers are beneficial for the digestive tract, for lowering blood pressure, and for pain relief among other things. There are many ways in which chili peppers can be added into our diet; for example in soups or sauces.

Its curative effects extend to bacterial and fungal infections. Actually, it helps with any kind of inflammation. Besides, it is powerful in the prevention of intestinal ulcers and diabetes complications.

A simple idea for including ginger into your diet is to make lemonade. Here you can simply combine some water with freshly grated ginger, lemon juice and honey.
